Penny Black Recipe

This week on the Penny Black Saturday challenge there is a recipe, 3 flowers, 2 papers and 1 ribbon. So this is my card made to the recipe. I have used the penny black stamp City Diva and coloured her with polychromos and sansodor, the papers are by scrapbook walls. The flowers are all Prima flowers with brads as the centres.

Just a quick card today as I have been busy making Elvis Christmas cards and have been unable so far to partake in the normal challenges, but no the cards are done hopefully normal service can resume.

The other bit of news that I have is that I have been chosen to be on the DT for Kadoodle stamps which are available only from The Craft Barn a great shop in Lingfield Surrey, So thank you Sandy and Isabelle for chosing me

A wedding Card

Thought I would show a wedding card that I have made for a wedding this weekend. Have used a manga style stamp from dewdropz crafts which I think is an absolutely brilliant stamp. The image has been coloured using Polychromos and sansodor, and then mounted onto gold mirri card. The colour theme of the wedding is Brown and gold, so therefore I have used brown card which has been embossed in the cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder, wrapped some gold ribbon around the card. The base card is leather look cream card, but this doesn't actually show up on the scan.

Papertake

This week on Papertake weekly challenge blog there is yet another great sketch by Dawny.
I had been asked to make a card for a girl at works Nephew who is working on the Olympic Site in Stratford and if possible could it be made with someone wearing a hard hat on it. I browsed through all my Cuddly Buddly images remembering that I had downloaded the Men at Work collection, so I have used one of the men and the backing paper from that set. Added some paper from my stash for the main BP and then added the ruler twill. The nephew is a peel off, but I don't possess any stamps with nephew or anything similar on them.

Penny Black Day

Today is Penny Black challenge day, and today it is a sketch by Beth.
I have stayed away from the christmas cards for this card. I have used Penny Black man's best friend stamp, coloured with polychromos and sansodor again. The BP is papermania from the Simply elegant pad. Have used dark brown bazzill card down the centre of the card and light brown card from my stash to mount the image and for the sentiment which is from stampin up.
Finally used a piece of my furry paw print ribbon which I got from a craft show and have nearly run out of now......note to self must get some more.

Sketch Saturday 28

There is a brilliant sketch over on Sketch Saturday challenge blog this week and the sketch is by Mariska, great sketch thank you. I have used Tilda in christmas stockings for this card, she has been coloured using polychromos and sansodor, The BP's are all from the DCWV Rose tinted christmas pad. The ribbon is from my ribbon drawer and the sentiment has been done on my Dymo. The three snowflakes have been punched out with glittercard, the one that looks black is in fact purple.
Time to hopefully do another challenge, hasn't been a good week for taking part in challenges, and back to work tonight so another night with no crafting.

time to play catch up again

Have to play catch up again with all the weekend challenges that I haven't got done yet. The first one on the list is the Magnolia Vs Stampavie, which is a sketch this week, and this is my take on the sketch.

I have used one of my new Tildas anc coloured her with polychromos and sansodor. The papers are all papermania. The images on the side are from Bo Bunny which I cut out from a 12 by 12 sheet. The sentiment is a penny black stamp . hopefully tomorrow I will have more to show. Work really does get in the way of crafting.

Stamp with Stampavie

Haven't managed to participate in the stamp with stampavie challenges for a couple of weeks, but had a go at this weeks sketch today. Have used my new Christmas Sarah Kay stamp and coloured it with polychromos and sansodor. The paper is from a papermania pad of christmas papers. The red card is DCWV stack that I have had for a couple of years at least. Added a flower and a holly leave which is edged with glitter and the sentiment is from a Hero arts stamp

2 in 1 today

Well I think this is a first for me, I have done 2 challenges with the one card today. Firstly Papertake weekly has a great sketch by DawnyP again, and what a brilliant sketch it is. I have used a sarah kay stamp and coloured the image with polychromos and sansodor. The BP is wild asparagus and the green paper is the reverse side. This has been embossed using a cuttlebug embossing folder. Added ribbon and flowers and pearl brads which unfortunately have caused this card not to scan very well, the image is not blurred in real life.
As I have managed quite a few textures on this card it also qualifies for the Magnolia vs Stampavie challenge this week as well which is Get the feeling. The embossing is added texture as is the backing paper which is textured not flat. The ribbons ans flowers add extra texture.

Friday Sketchers

This week on Friday Sketchers there is a brilliant sketch by Beatrix from Germany.
I have rotated the sketch as found it easier to work with this way round. To make a change from all the christmas cards I've been making lately I decided to use this stamp from Kadoodle stamps from the craft barn which is called James and Zak. The BP are all Wild asparagus papers. The image has been coloured with polychromos and sansodor and then chalked to take away the bright white. Added the ric rac which was easier to curve. added the sentiment from craftwork cards and a couple of flowers , cos even men like flowers.
Love this sketch and will probably make more cards using it.

Funky Christmas

This week the challenge on Penny Black saturday challenge is Funky Christmas

This week we'd like to see your Christmas creations ~ with a twist ~
Let's try to stay away from your traditional colours and create something different.
~ I know you can all do it ~ so go wild and get Funky !!!

So I have chosen Pink as my non traditional christmas colour. I tried to stamp some christmas images last night but do you think I could get a clear image ......no......so I decided to use one of my Penny Black Stickeroos from the christmas sheet. The paper is from DCWV tinted rose pack, and these pieces were still on my desk from the card I made last night, so thought use those. Added pink ribbon and a shocking pink snowflake cut using the Ice Crystal cuttlebug cut and emboss die. The sentiment is from papermania.

Sketch saturday 26

There is yet again another brilliant sketch on the Sketch Saturday blog this week. So I have gone for Waiting Tilda coloured with polychromos and sansodor (reminder to self -must try other mediums). Have inked the snowflake cuttlebug folder with pretty in pink ink by stampin up and then run it through the cuttlebug. The papers are all DCWV rose tinted christmas papers and the sentiment is one that came in a small scrapbook kit last year and I never used it.

A card for a 70 year old Christian

Had been asked to make a card for a devout christian, absolutely nothing wrong with that, but they wanted the fish symbol incorporated into it. Luckily I had the fish anyway, but thought what else can I put on the card. Thinking maybe the cute images are not the right thing, so after going through draws of stash, i happened across a pack of vellum images that I had and thought oh, they might be more appropriate. So here is the finished card, just hope that its ok

Cute Card Thursday

This week the challenge on Cute Card Thursday is Snow and Snowflakes. I decided to use this scribble snowman from funstamps, but wanted to use more traditional christmas colours. The backing paper is from DCWV and added the snowflake wire edged ribbon, and then punched some snowflakes from an x cut punch in silver glitter card. Must find a larger snowflake

So for this challenge, I have used 2 flowers and also managed the floral background along with a few flowers in the image.

a wedding card

Not suer if I will be able to do any challenges today as I'm back to work after 2 weeks off, One weeks holiday and one weeks sick with a stinking cold. So in case I can't get any challenges done, I thought I would show you a wedding card that I had been asked to make, unfortunately the colours don't show up too well on the scan, but the card is cream, and gold mirri card which wants to show as black on here. The stamp is one that I love and I got in from Dewdropz craft which have a nice range of manga style stamps. Used the swiss dots embossing folder on white card, and then some ribbon with silver and gold hearts on it.

Magnolia vs Stampavie # 3

This week on magnolia vs stampavie, there is a brilliant sketch, loved doing this and challenged me to make a DL card which I haven't done for months, seem to keep making square cards.
I have used magnolia with her newspaper, coloured with polychromos and sansodor. She has been matted onto dark brown bazzill card, but it seems rather dark in the scan. Added the scalloped edge which was a piece left from a card a while ago and was just stitting on the shelf.
Added ribbon and string, the sentiment and then a couple of prima flowers and brads.

Sketch Saturday

Just a day late doing this one, but had to work last night, so finished the card this morning.
Another great sketch this week on sketch saturday blog, and some great cards from the DT.
I have used this cute dog again, couldn't resist making some more cards using this image, reminds me of my own dog, whom I'm sure would wear a santa hat if I put one on her.
The papers are all from my stash but i think a couple of them are HOTP and one is papermania.
The sentiment is one I printed on the PC. Didn't add any other embellishments as i liked the look of it as per the sketch with no other additions.
