Friday sketchers

Another great sketch this week on the Friday Sketchers Blog. This week the sketch is by Kristine and although it may look easy, it wasn't very easy, the problem I found was every image I thought of using was too large to be able to put 2 panels on the front of the card, hence this image being cut out. Don't know if that made sense but hey I know what I'm rambling on about. Have used this stamp from sugar nellies, and I think she is very cute. The papers are all K & CO again and yet again from the Ancestry pack. Have added a couple of prima flowers secured with a brad, and the sentiments are Autumn Leaves stamps .

Animal Magic

This weeks challenge on Cute Card Thursday is Animal Magic, they would like to see an animal somewhere on our cards.

I have used this stamp from Kadoodle stamps called James and his dog, and then coloured the image using polychromos and sansodor again. The papers are all from papermania from the for him range. The brown card is chocolate chip from stampin up. Used another stamp from the See d range and stamped it in white. Have not added any other embellishments as yet again, the paper being so busy, I felt embellishments weren't called for. Plus the fact that I don't possess many male embellishments.

papertake weekly challenge

Over on the Papertake weekly challenge blog there is another great sketch by Dawny. I decided to rotate the sketch this week as it suited the image that I wanted to use better this way round. I have used a sugar nellie stamp and she has been coloured using polychromos and ansodor, all the BP are K & Co from the Ancestry pack. The sentiment is from a See d set of sentiment stamps. I decided not to use another further embellishments on this card as it was starting to look cluttered, I think the BP is patterned enough.

The Pink elephant

Whilst doing a bit of blog hopping this morning, I came across the Pink Elephant challenge blog, and its only on its 3rd challenge and its on a monday......great i thought. So went ahead and made a card according to the sketch. Love the sketch but not sure on my version of it, I tried it with a patterned backing paper and it looked terrible so went for the plain paper instead.
The stamp is from the Kadoodle range of stamps and this little beauty is called Primrose and she was designed by the very talented Sandra Dry. The image has been coloured with polychromos and sansodor. I then stamped a swirl onto the card which wasn't easy because of the different heights I had to stamp onto. Added a ribbon along the scalloped piece of card and then a prima flower. The sentiment is computer generated.

Pink and Grey

The colour create blog has a great colour combination this week and its pink and grey. I have used my messy rabbit ballerina, who is of course wearing a pink tutu, the pink BP is the same as yesterdays card which is papermania vintage paper, the scalloped grey card is from my cardstock collection, and I even found some grey lace as well. I used my dymo to do the sentiment in pink of course and then just added a couple of pink flowers with a grey brad in the centre of them

Sketch saturday

Another great sketch as always over on the Sketch Saturday challenge blog, and I had to make a card with a cat on today, so thought I would use todays sketch, although now I have posted it, it looks a bit plain. I have used a Joanna Sheen stamp which is from a sheet of cat stamps that I have, stamped in vintage sepia, and then mounted onto brown card. The BP is papermania vintage, I have then added brown and pink ribbons and the 3 flowers. Finally stamped a happy birthday in the corner.

Now edited to add an updated pic of the card, decided to add some paw prints to take away some of the plainness ( is that a word)

a touch of decoupage

I have to admit to decoupage not being one of my favourites in the old card making world, but I have totally fallen for the Remember when range by La Pashe. I was asked to make a card for a man and the only thing I had to go on was cars. By chance my Mum had got me this set at a show she went to in Brighton and it so fitted the request. The only thing is they are rather large and this is an A5 card, but hey it looks good. Will be doing some flippin men and women soon, another set that I couldn't resist

Colour create and Truly Scrumptious

Ok a card for 2 challenges. This week is the first week of Truly scrumptious challenge blog, which I happened across by accident whilst blog hopping and boy am I glad that I did. Its a wednesday challenge, well will be every other Wednesday, but you can never have enough challenges can you. This week it is a great sketch and I had to make a birthday card for a blonde nurse. I have used Anya as a nurse and boy she is cute, am going to have to get some more of these stamps now. The papers are all from my stash and the red card is all scrap card.
This also meets the requirement for the colour create challenge blog who are now on their 3rd week, but its my first time of playing along. The colours this week are Red, white and blue, but as you can see I didn't take part with the optional extra of using the theme of Holidays and travel. All the card is red blue and white apart from of course the blonde hair and the flesh.

messy rabbit

Have just used my new Joanna Sheen Messy rabbit stamps and made this card to the sketch on this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge blog. The images have all been coloured in my usual fashion using polychromos and sansodor. All the papers are from My minds eye apart from the dark brown cardstock which is from stampin up. Not a lot more to say about this card.

A spoon full of sugar and Kadoodle DT card

My card for today is made using the Sketch on this weeks challenge on A spoon full of Sugar. A great sketch by Debbie this week, and I have used it to make a DT card for Kadoodle stamps. The stamp is Dan by Sandra Dry and available only from The craft barn, he has been coloured using polychromos and sansodor. I made a blackboard for him to stand against and did a bit of my own writing or rather numbers and letters on the board using a white sakura pen. The papers are from my stash along with the sentiment, and added a gold star, I know it looks dark in the scan but it really is a bright gold star. Decided to use these colours, as they were the colours from my primary school, so was doing a bit of reminising at the same time.
At least I seem to be getting some mojo back now, and am off to make another card.

Surprising what an I pod can do

Well there I was sitting listening to my Ipod as i was browsing blogs this morning and then when I got to the Cute card Thursday challenge blog the theme was Music and Dance, one of the songs I had just listened to was I love Rock n Roll by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (Brilliant song). So the brain cells started working and this is what I came up with. As soon as I saw the theme I knew that I had to use these 2 images and Rock n Roll is what they say to me. They have been coloured using polychromos and sansodor again. The image of the jukebox is from the net. If I had a dime I would have put that on there as well, thinking about it I might just have one.
The paper is from Hot off the Press and the title is computer generated. Just added some musical note stickers to finish.

Why do we get such request?

I was asked to make a valentine card for a bloke at work to give to his wife, the only thing was that it had to include Guinea pigs. After trawling through literally hundreds of pictures of guinea pigs, I found this one, and thought it sort of fitted the bill. Have used no backing paper on this card as nothing looked right with the image. The image was cut using my nestabilites along with the oblong cut which has also been embossed on the cuttlebug. Just finished with a papermania love stamp. All I have to do now is think of a silly setiment to go inside

Sketch Saturday

Still behind on challenges due to my total lack of imagination, I look at paper and then can't find any that seem to go together. But hey I'm persevering. Today its my effort for this weeks Sketch Saturday sketch. This week the sketch is by Jeanette and what a great sketch it is, not sure if i've done it justice though. I have used Papermania paper, and scraps of card. I have coloured Tilda with polychromos and sansodor, added some small flowers in the corners which were a freebie with a magazine yonks ago, and have used an Autumn Harvest ticket stamp for the sentiment which is attached with a small metal clip.

Warm it up

The challenge this week on Tilda and Friends ATC challenge blog is "Warm it Up"

They wanted us to make an ATC with warm colours or a warming theme. So I have used Petunia again and today she is the Sun Goddess. She has been coloured using polychromos and sansodor. The sand is sandpaper, the sea is textured blue paper, and the sun is a flower. have just added a stafish to finish.

Petunia

Seeing as the weather is sooooo wintery at the moment, I thought that I would make a card for A spoon full of sugar challenge blog and incorporate a DT card as well for Kadoodle Stamps . For this card I have used Petunia , a great stamp designed by the brilliant Sandra Dry . The image has been coloured in my usual fashion of polychromos and Sansodor. The papers are Papermania and Basic Grey. Have added another piece of my favourite lace at the moment. The flowers and the sentiment are both from The Craft Barn .
